3rd Annual Women’s History Month Celebration
March 21, 2016 (Philadelphia, Pa) – Unity in the Community and Universal Companies has joined forces for a third year to celebrate some of Philadelphia’s most powerful women. Their annual Women’s History Month Celebration “Her Story”, is a popular, free event in South Philadelphia, honoring everyday women as well as fearless female “bosses” that are making waves in the community. Hosted by talented R&B artist and reality-TV star, “Lil Mo”, this year’s event will take place on Thursday, March 30th at Universal Audenreid High School, located at 3301 Tasker Street in South Philadelphia and honor the late Donna Brown, co-founder of Point Breeze Performing Arts Center, Tierra Jones, founder of A.T.T.R.A.C.T Philly, legendary DJ and music producer DJ Diamond Kuts, realtor and founder of Natural Heart Sistah Enterprises, Sheena Jones-Moss, Milan Rouge, owner of the popular clothing line Milano di Rouge, and dynamic supermoms Lakeisha McLean and Jade Lee.
“It’s truly an honor to recognize such amazing women from our community,” says Anton Moore, founder of Unity in the Community. “Our Women’s History Month event is a special opportunity
to celebrate their stories and their triumphs, and applaud them for the way they inspire future generations of young women.”
The ceremony will include an award presentation as well as performances and appearances by local organizations and entertainers: Patty Jackson of WDAS-FM, I Am a Role Model, Solis, Diva Dollz, Phresh Princess, DJ Ant Liva, Will Little, Destinee Marie and more.
The free event is sponsored by Daily Dove Care, Health Partner Plans, Philly’s Power 99FM, South Philadelphia’s Doctor Fortion and will begin at 6pm.
